Symptoms

After an E30 platform is upgraded to AIX 4.3.3, the Machine ID equals 000FFFFFFC400.

Cause

Upgrading the E30 platform’s operating system to AIX 4.3.3.

Solution

Restore the correct Machine ID:

1. At the AIX command line prompt, delete the file suppdd located in the directory /etc/drivers/isa/suppdd.
   This file is only required when a support processor card is installed inside the E30 computer.
2. Unplug the E30 computer’s power cord from the electrical outlet and plug it in again after 10 seconds.
