  • 43P-150-Tiger2
  • F50-Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 44P-170-Hammerhead

Operating system

  • IBM® AIX 4.3.3
  • Mac OS®

Symptoms

In Brisque version 4.1.76, plate marks overprint in all the areas where the mark data is 0% (white or a single separation value).

Cause

Due to a change in the plate mark behavior during the Plate Expose operation in Brisque 4.1.76, the plate marks that overlap the page data will no longer create a knockout as in previous Brisque versions.

Solution

Restore the knockout behavior of the plate mark by modifying the LW (line work) mark on the Brisque using the PressTouch application on the Macintosh® computer.

  1. On the Macintosh, start PressTouch by double-clicking its icon.
  2. From the Edit menu on the PressTouch menu bar, select Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window, click the Units tab and select System Values (0-255) in the Display Color Values box.
  4. Mount the Marks library on the Macintosh and open the relevant mark with PressTouch.
  5. Click the Swatches palette to open the Swatches window and check each color swatch. Find and replace each color swatch that has a value of 255 (0%) with 254.
  6. Resave the mark in the Brisque library.
  7. If there are .rot versions of the original mark in the library, delete them. They will be recreated automatically from the new modified marker when expose starts.
