Symptoms

While the punch is active on the Dolev 800 imagesetter, the two large film cassettes do not switch automatically when the film in the lower cassette is finished, although Auto Size is selected in the Expose Media box of the Expose template.

Note: For the cassettes to switch automatically, the film in both cassettes must be identical in size. This limitation exists both before and after installing the patch.

Cause

Brisque ignores the selected Auto Size option while the punch is active.

Solution

Before you complete this procedure, ensure that your system is running Brisque 4.1.76 and Upd_Brisque41_Output 4.1.76.5.
Note: Upd_Brisque41_Output 4.1.76.5 is in beta. Contact a Brisque specialist to verify whether you can install the Output update.

1. From the FTP site, download Patch2Cassetes.Z and copy it to one of the Brisque disks.
2. Copy the Expose file from the expanded Patch2Cassetes.Z folder and replace the file with the same name at directory/scitex/version/progs
3. To save the original file, type:
   cd /scitex/version/progs
cp -p expose expose.ver
4. To install the update, browse to the location of the update file in the disks and type:
   uncompress Patch2Cassetes.Z
tar -xvf Patch2Cassetes
   The new file is copied with the correct permissions and to the correct location.
   Note: It is not necessary to restart the application.
