  • Brisque 4.1
  • Trendsetter® MCE V-speed
  • All Lotem® platesetters with 2 TSP

Platform

  • 6E3
  • 6E4
  • 43P-150—Tiger2
  • 44P-170—Hammerhead
  • F50—Wildcat
  • 6F1—Condor

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.2.1, 4.3.3, 5.2.1

Symptoms

When a Brisque expose job is sent to a Trendsetter MCE V-speed or Lotem platesetter with 2 TSPs, the expose stops responding after imaging 99% of the job and lines appear on the plate.

Cause

The TSP connectors (TSP1 and TSP2) on the Brisque side are not connected to the correct TSP boards (nsp0 and nsp1).

Solution

Verify the TSP cable installation on your platform:

44P-170 platforms

  1. Verify that the end of the 72-pin TSP cable (part number 199D20022) labeled TSP1 is connected to the TSP board in slot 4, and that the other end of the 72-pin cable labeled TSP2 is connected to the TSP board in slot 5.
  2. Turn on the platesetter.
  3. Start Brisque.
  4. Use your password and log in as root.
  5. To check the slot configuration, do the following:
    • Open a command line and type lsdev -Cspci to verify that nsp0 is located in slot 4 (slot ID 10-70) and nsp1 is located in slot 5 (slot ID 10-78).
If the TSP boards are not located correctly, type the following commands to remove the slot driver assignments:
      rmdev -l nsp0 -d and press enter.
      rmdev -l nsp1 -d and press enter.
To renew the driver assignment, type:
      cfgmgr and press enter.

F50 platforms

  1. Verify that the end of the 72-pin TSP cable (part number 199D20022) labeled TSP1 is connected to the TSP board in slot 5, and that the other end of the 72-pin cable labeled TSP2 is connected to the TSP board in slot 6.
  2. Turn on the platesetter.
  3. Start Brisque.
  4. Use your password and log in as root.
  5. To check the slot configuration, do the following:
    • Open a command lind and type lsdev -Cspci to verify that nsp0 is located in slot 5 (slot ID 10-78) and nsp1 is located in slot 6 (slot ID 30-60).
If the TSP boards are not located correctly, type the following commands to remove the slot driver assignments:
      rmdev -l nsp0 -d and press enter.
      rmdev -l nsp1 -d and press enter.
To renew the driver assignment, type:
      cfgmgr and press enter.

6F1 platforms

  1. Verify that the end of the 72-pin TSP cable (part number 199D20022) labeled TSP1 is connected to the TSP board in slot 7, and that the other end of the 72-pin cable labeled TSP2 is connected to the TSP board in slot 11.
  2. Turn on the platesetter.
  3. Start Brisque.
  4. Use your password and log in as root.
  5. To check the slot configuration, do the following:
    • Open a command line type lsdev -Cspci to verify that nsp0 is located in slot 7 (slot ID 2A-08) and nsp1 is located in slot 11 (slot ID 34-08).
If the TSP boards are not located correctly, type the following commands to remove the slot driver assignments:
      rmdev -l nsp0 -d and press enter.
      rmdev -l nsp1 -d and press enter.
To renew the driver assignment, type:
      cfgmgr and press enter.

6E3 platforms

  1. Verify that the end of the 72-pin TSP cable (part number 199D20022) labeled TSP1 is connected to the TSP board in slot 5, and that the other end of the 72-pin cable labeled TSP2 is connected to the TSP board in slot 4.
  2. Turn on the platesetter.
  3. Start Brisque.
  4. Use your password and log in as root.
  5. To check the slot configuration, do the following:
    • Open a command line type lsdev -Cspci to verify that nsp0 is located in slot 5 (slot ID 1H-08) and nsp1 is located in slot 4 (slot ID 1N-08).
If the TSP boards are not located correctly, type the following commands to remove the slot driver assignments:
      rmdev -l nsp0 -d and press enter.
      rmdev -l nsp1 -d and press enter.
To renew the driver assignment, type:
      cfgmgr and press enter.

6E4 platforms

  1. Verify that the end of the 72-pin TSP cable (part number 199D20022) labeled TSP1 is connected to the TSP board in slot 6, and that the other end of the 72-pin cable labeled TSP2 is connected to the TSP board in slot 5.
  2. Turn on the platesetter.
  3. Start Brisque.
  4. Use your password and log in as root.
  5. To check the slot configuration, do the following:
    • Open a command line type lsdev -Cspci to verify that nsp0 is located in slot 6 (slot ID 11-08) and nsp1 is located in slot 5 (slot ID 1D-08).
If the TSP boards are not located correctly, type the following commands to remove the slot driver assignments:
      rmdev -l nsp0 -d and press enter.
      rmdev -l nsp1 -d and press enter.
To renew the driver assignment, type:
