IBM® AIX® 4.3.3

Symptoms

When configuring an imagesetter in parallel to an S or F speed platesetter (using 1 TSP), an error message appears in the Device Handling window informing you that this operation is not allowed.

Solution

To solve this problem, install a patch:

  1. Open the AIX terminal.
  2. Download and copy the config.tar patch to dataVolumes/example.1.0/.updates
Note: If this directory does not exist, you should create it.
  3. To locate the patch, type:
    cd/dataVolumes/example.1.0/updates
  4. To expand the patch, type:
    tar-xvf config.tar

The file is copied to /scitex/version/progs. The patch is now installed and you can configure an imagesetter in parallel to an S or F speed platesetter.
