Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.3.3

Symptoms

When exposing a 1-bit TIFF file with Staccato screen set, and the file is rotated 90° during expose, the job fails with error 6810.
The preview of the rotated TIFF file is corrupted.

Cause

There is a problem in the program that rotates 1-bit TIFF files.

Solution

To solve the problem you need to install the pltAutoPipeLine.tar.Z patch.

Prerequisites for this solution:

Loading instructions:

  1. Log off the Brisque application.
  2. Log on as root and type your password (ripro).
  3. Type cd /scitex/version/progs and press Enter.
  4. Type cp -p pltAutoPipeLine.org and press Enter to back up the original file.
  5. Download the pltAutoPipeLine.tar.Z patch to /dataVolumes/example.1.0/.updates.
  6. Type cd dataVolumes/example.1.0/Updates and press Enter.
  7. Type uncompress pltAutoPipeLine.tar.Z and press Enter.
  8. Type tar -xvf pltAutoPipeLine.tar and press Enter. The new file is automatically copied to its designated location.
  9. Type exit and log on as cdesci.

The files will be copied to the correct location. TIFF files using Staccato screen set should now expose properly.

It is important to remember to install the patch on the Brisque after each software installation (cold start and full version).
