A stop spiral occurs during expose when a Dolev imagesetter is connected to a Brisque 4.1 workstation with VLSI connection.

Solution

To solve the problem you need to install the vlsi2.tar.Z patch.

Prerequisite:

  • Brisque version 4.1.76 + Output Update 5

Loading instructions:

  1. Log off the Brisque application.
  2. Log on as root and type your password (ripro).
  3. Type cd /scitex/version/progs and press enter.
  4. Type cp -p pltDc pltDc.org and press enter to back up the original file.
  5. Download the vlsi2.tar.Z patch to /dataVolumes/example.1.0/.updates.
  6. Type cd dataVolumes/example.1.0/.updates and press enter.
  7. Type uncompress vlsi2.tar.Z and press enter.
  8. Type tar -xvf vlsi2.tar and press enter. The file is automatically copied to its designated location.
  9. Type exit and log on as cdesci.

It is important to install the patch on the Brisque after each software installation (cold start and full version).
