Symptoms

When printing a job to an Improof device and the job height is more than the default size that is defined in the device, the paper is cut off according to the default printer size. This problem occurs on all devices where the paper source is roll (such as Epson, IRIS43WIDE, HP 5000).

Solution

A workaround to this problem:

  1. Create a template defining your workflow. For example, Translate > Preview > Improof > Send.
  2. In Brisque 4.x:
    1. Select Improof from the launch pad.
    2. In the Improof dialog box, set the following:
    3. Make sure that Type is defined as Roll.
    4. Define the Paper size to Customize.
    5. Set the paper height (that is, around the roll) to the requested height and click Enter.
    6. The message Paper size exceeds the proofer's dimensions appears; click OK.
    7. Make sure that the height remains as you have just defined it.
  3. In Brisque 5.0:
    1. Select the Improof operation to open the Improof Parameters dialog box.
    2. In the Device&Media tab, set the following:
    3. Make sure that Type is defined as Roll.
    4. Define the Paper size as Custom.
    5. Set the paper height (that is, around the roll) to the requested height.
  4. Save the template.
