Imposition job fails when sent to Integris via Brisque Proof Agent

Product

  • Brisque 4.1
  • Integris™ proofers

Platform

  • E30—Victory
  • 43P–140—Tiger1
  • 43P–150—Tiger2

  • 6E3
  • 6E4

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.3.3, 5.2

Error

When the proof is set to 14.17 x 14.17 dpm, the error message Brisque cannot open raster file–the file may be damaged appears.
When the proof is set to 28.34 x 28.34 dpm, the error message LW Res is too small for this operation appears.

Symptoms

The job first goes through pltAutoPipeline, the proof progresses to 100% and then the job fails.

Cause

The width of the mark that was defined for the job is too narrow. For example, a hairline of 0.125 pt was defined.

Solution

There are two workarounds to this problem:

  • Change the mark width to at least 0.25 pt.
  • Create a bounding box around the mark in Adobe® Illustrator® by adding a rectangle with No Fill and No Line around the mark. When the Brisque RIPs the mark, it adds a white background to the mark.
