Scheduled maintenance isn't performed because Brisque isn't logged out

Product

Brisque® 5.0

Platform

  • 43P–150—Tiger2
  • F50—Wildcat (2, 4, and 6 CPUs)
  • 6F1—Condor (2, 4, and 6 CPUs)
  • 6E3
  • 6E4

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 5.2

Symptoms

A new Customer Maintenance option is available under scismit/problem determination in Brisque 5.0 FP. The script that runs this maintenance once a week requires that you have logged out of the system.
Since many customers don't log out of their Brisque stations on a daily basis the scheduled maintenance does not run.

Solution

Workaround for Brisque 5.0 FP:

  1. Schedule the customer's maintenance.
  2. Run crontab -l. The following appears in crontab:
    0 23 * * 1 /scitex/version/scripts/cust_maint.sh
  3. To initiate the maintenance script and force Brisque logout, run crontab -e to edit crontab.
  4. Add the -l option, as follows:
0 23 * * 1 /scitex/version/scripts/cust_maint.sh -l

Then save and exit.

Planned solution: In version 5.1, the script will handle automatic logout before running the maintenance.
