In Brisque 5.0, error “Queue server: Brisque cannot perform pipeline because the license doesn‘t exist”

Product

  • Brisque® 5.0.61.xx
  • All output devices (platesetters, imagesetters, and proofers)

Platform

All Brisque 5.0 platforms

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 5.2

Symptoms

When a job is submitted for expose or proof without opening the template, the error Queue server: Brisque cannot perform pipeline because the license doesn‘t exist appears.

Cause

When the name of the output device that was used for the template is changed, and a job is submitted without opening the template or the job is resubmitted from the queue, then the error message appears.

Solution

Whenever the device name is changed, there are 2 ways to avoid the problem:

  • Open the template and save it with the new device name,
    or:
  • Restore the original device name.

After the template is saved, the error will not appear when a job is submitted.

Note: In Brisque version 5.1.xx, the error message will be more informative and accurate.
