Brisque reboots after upgrading to more than 4 GB RAM

Product

  • Brisque® 5.0
  • All devices with TSP
  • Screen2Go

Platform

All Brisque 5.0 platforms

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.3.3, 5.2

Symptoms

When a Brisque workstation that is connected to a device with TSP is upgraded to more than 4 GB RAM, the Brisque reboots itself.

Cause

Problem with the TSP driver.

Solution

To solve the problem you need to install the nspdd1.tar.Z patch that will install a new TSP driver on your Brisque:

  1. Log off the Brisque application.
  2. Open AIX terminal. Log on as root and type your password (ripro).
  3. Download the nspdd1.tar.Z patch to one of the dataVolumes.
  4. Type cd /scitex/version/etc/drivers/
    cp -p nspdd nspdd.vr5
and press enter to back up the original file.
  5. Browse to the patch location.
  6. Type uncompress nspdd1.tar.Z and press enter.
  7. Type tar -xvf nspdd1.tar and press enter. The file is automatically copied to its designated location.
  8. Reboot the Brisque.

Note: A permanent solution will be provided in Upd_Brisque5_61_10 (5.10.61.3) (client build 10.3).

It is important to remember to install the patch on the Brisque after each software installation (cold start and full version).
