You can’t perform operations (RIP, preview, and FAF) because the multiserver Java process is down

Product

Brisque® 5.0

Platform

  • 44P–170—Hammerhead
  • F50—Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 6F1—Condor (2, 4 and 6 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.3.3 or 5.2

Symptoms

In Brisque 5.0.61.6, you can't RIP, preview, or perform other operations. The processes get stuck at 0% because the multiserver Java process is down.
Note: To check the status of the multiserver Java process:

  • If the Brisque client is running, select Terminal from the Services menu and type lsjproc.sh. The status of the multiserver is listed as Down.
  • If the Brisque client is not running, select Terminal from the Brisque Services window and type lsjproc.sh. The status of the multiserver is listed as Down.

Cause

In Preferences > Messages > Maximum Number of Messages in Message Log, the maximum number of messages was changed to less than 300 (default is 500).

Solution

Temporary solution:

In the Maximum Number of Messages in Message Log box, do not change the default value of 500.

This problem in Brisque 5.0.61.6 will be corrected in an update on top of V5.0.61.6 EP version.
