Error

File server uses an incompatible version of AFP Protocol

Symptoms

The error message may appear when you use HELIOS to connect to Brisque from Mac OS X v10.4 (Tiger).

Cause

Mac OS X v10.4.x does not support non-IP AppleShare^®; it only supports AppleShare over IP.

Solution

Remove or reconfigure the /usr/local/es/conf/afpipaccess file on all Brisque 5 workstations. Instructions can be found in EtherShare 2.5 Release notes.
