Symptoms

1. Sometimes frames are not created in the PDF file even though the PDF Trap process was completed without an error message.
2. You cannot perform trapping on a PDF file that was previously trapped. The process fails with an error message.

Cause

A problem in PDF Trap in Brisque 5.1.

Solution

Different workarounds are suggested for the two symptoms.

For symptom 1:

To verify if trapping was performed, preview the PDF in Adobe^® Acrobat^® and check if the PDF Trap icon appears in the top left corner of the Preview. If it does not, perform one of the following:

• Use FAF in Brisque 5.1 to create frames after RIPing the PDF file to a Brisque job.
• If you have a license for the PDF Trapper plug-in in Adobe Acrobat, use it to create the frames.

For symptom 2:

• If you have a license for the PDF Trapper plug-in in Adobe Acrobat, use it to create the frames.
• Perform PDF Trap in Brisque 5.1 on the original PDF file (before the first PDF Trap was performed).
