User screen sets are not saved when migrating to Brisque 5.0

Product

Brisque® 5.0

Platform

All Brisque platforms

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.3.3, 5.2

Symptoms

After migrating from Brisque 4.1 to Brisque 5.0 using the v5Ready CD, the user screen sets disappeared.

Cause

During migrating, the user screen sets are not saved to the dataVolumes. When the number of user screen sets is large, the files list exceeds the limits of the AIX shell, and as a result the ScreenSets.tar file which is created in /dataVolumes/.../SaveConfig/ is empty.
Note: When this happens, the first line in the save config log is /usr/bin/grep: arg list too long

Solution

Before running the v5Ready script from the CD, download and install the FixSaveConfig41 patch, which fixes the user_screen script:

  1. Download FixSaveConfig41.tar.Z and copy it to Brisque.
  2. Browse to the directory in which the file is located.
  3. Uncompress the file: type uncompress FixSaveConfig41.tar.Z
Then untar the file: type tar xvf FixSaveConfig41.tar
  4. Run the v5Ready migration script from the CD.

After the save that is performed as part of the v5Ready program, all screen sets (including user-defined screen sets) are saved in the AllBrisqueSetups.tar and ScreenSets.tar files.

Note: The issue is resolved in the v51ready program.
