Brisque mounting problems after exporting a disk from a different host

Product

  • Brisque 5.x software
  • Brisque 4.x software

Platform

All Brisque 4.x and 5.x platforms

Operating system

IBM AIX 4.3.3 and 5.2

Symptoms

Brisque mounting problems after exporting a disk from a different host.

Solution

You need to manually change the names of the dataVolumes:

Note: Run the following commands in the AIX terminal.

  1. Stop atalk, nfx. Type:
    cd /usr/local/es/; stop-atalk now
    stopsrc -g nfs
  2. Close the Brisque software.
  3. Unmount the filesystems in question. For example:
    umount /dataVolumes/brisque02.1.0
  4. Change the mount-point of the filesystem to a new one. Type:
    chfs -m /dataVolumes/brisque02.1.0 /dataVolumes/brisque04.1.0
  5. Delete the old mount-points. Type:
    rm -r /dataVolumes/brisque02.1.0
  6. Mount all the filesystems. Type:
    mount -a
  7. Using vi, modify /usr/local/es/conf/afpvolumes so that brisque02 is changed to brisque04
  8. Using vi, modify /etc/exports so that brisque02 is changed to brisque04
  9. Type: /usr/local/es/start-atalk
    startsrc -g nfs
  10. Log in to the Brisque software
