TSP errors when using Brisque 5.1.32 with Output update_4

Product

Brisque 5.x software

Platform

All Brisque 5.x platforms

Operating system

IBM AIX 5.2

Symptoms

The following three TSP_75 problems can occur when using Output update_4 in Brisque 5.1.32:
Note:
Output update_4 can be found on the Downloads page.

  • Occurs mainly on F50 platforms with Screen2Go or when connected to Trendsetter MPE platesetter: intermittent TSP error 7125, TSP error 7155, and system error 6982, and the expose process hangs.
  • Occurs on all platforms: intermittent TSP error 7155 with Staccato_20 screenset.
  • Occurs on all platforms which are connected to Lotem Quantum platesetters: With Staccato screenset, a fine horizontal hairline appears across the width of the imposition job on the plate.

Solution

You need to install a patch, which contains two files that replace existing files:
Note: The patch should be installed whenever one of the above problems occurs.

  1. Save the original files:
    • adrg.rbf located in /scitex/version/plt_extobj/tsp1.0/Staccato
    • nspdd located in /scitex/version/etc/drivers
  2. Open a terminal (username root and password ripro) and remove the previous tsp driver from the system config. Type:
    # rmdev –l nsp0 –d
If there are two tsps on this platform, type:
    # rmdev –l nsp1 –d
  3. Download TspError4v5132.tar.Z and copy it to a dataVolume.
  4. Browse to the patch location and type:
    # patchinst.sh TspError4v5132.tar.Z
    # cfgmgr (to restart the new driver)

Note: This fix will be included in the next Output update.
