Save configuration to dataVolumes in Brisque 5.0.61.x does not save user screen sets

Product

Brisque 5.0.61.x software

Platform

All Brisque 5.0 platforms

Operating system

IBM AIX 5.2

Symptoms

Save configuration to dataVolumes via Scismit in Brisque 5.0.61.x software does not save user screen sets.

Solution

You need to install a save screen patch before performing Save configuration to dataVolumes.

  1. Open an AIX terminal (username root and password ripro).
  2. Download SaveScreen4ver5061.tar.Z to dataVolumes/example.1.0/.updates.
  3. Browse to patch location. Type
patchinst.sh SaveScreen4ver5061.tar.Z and press enter. The new files are copied to their proper locations.

Notes:

  • You might not realize that there is a problem with Save Configuration to dataVolumes in Brisque 5.0.61.x, until you perform Restore Settings after cold start in Brisque 5.1 or Brisque 5.0.61.x.
  • When migrating from Brisque 5.0.x to Brisque 5.1, you should use the updated v51Ready program (dated November 6, 2006), which includes a modified user_screen script that correctly saves user screens. It is critical to run the updated v51Ready prior to performing an initial Config Save from Brisque 5.0.x as part of the migration process. See the Downloads page.
