Renaming the file system path and logical volume

Product

  • Brisque® 3.x, 4.x, 5.0
  • Brisque Serve 4.0
  • Timna™ 3.0
  • DataDirect Networks EV-800™ RAID Storage System

Platform

  • E30—Victory
  • 43P–140—Tiger1
  • 43P–150—Tiger2
  • F50—Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 44P–170—Hammerhead
  • 6F1—Condor (2, 4, and 6 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.2.2 or 4.3.3

Symptoms

When you check the file system after migrating Timna to Brisque Serve, the EV-800 RAID data volume slv9.6 (hdisk7) is incorrectly assigned as slv7.5 (hdisk7).

Cause

When Timna software is migrated to Brisque Serve, the migration process temporarily removes the data volume slv9.6 (hdisk7) to create more disk space for the migration process. During the migration process, the migration script incorrectly re-assigns the data volume slv9.6 as data volume slv7.5.

Solution

Rename the incorrectly-named file system path and logical volume
