Error

Informix Dynamic Server 2000 was initialized with no mirroring.

Symptoms

An error message appears when mirroring Informix^® using onspaces.

Cause

An intermediate stage in the database is caused during the system disk mirroring/unmirroring process.

Solution

1. At the command line, type onmode -kuy to shut down Informix.
2. Change the following in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/onconfig:

   #MIRROR 0
MIRROR 1
#MIRRORPATH /dev/DBRootM
MIRRORPATH

3. Type oninit to start Informix.
4. Type the following command to add the mirror to the DBRoot:
"onspaces -m dbroot -p /dev/DBRoot -o 500 -m /dev/DBRootM 500 -y".
5. At the command line, type "onbar -b -F" to start the mirror.
   
6. Change the following in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/onconfig:

   #MIRROR 0
MIRROR 1
MIRRORPATH /dev/DBRootM
#MIRRORPATH
