When personalizing a VDP template in Internet Explorer 7, JPEG preview window hangs [ID: 82165]

Product

Kodak® InSite™ Variable Data Print, all versions

Platform

PC

Operating system

Microsoft® Windows® XP, 2000, or 2003

Symptoms

When logged on to Variable Data Print through the Microsoft Internet Explorer® 7 Internet browser, and previewing a personalized template in the JPEG preview window, the window becomes unresponsive. A yellow bar at the top of the window indicates that you need to enable temporary trusted scripts. If you click the message and select Temporarily trust, the window becomes responsive again.

Cause

The scripts required to run the JPEG preview window are not trusted by the browser.

Solution

To prevent the message from appearing again:

  1. In Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. On the Security tab, select Internet and click Custom Level.
  3. Under Scripting, set all options to Enable.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for Local intranet and Trusted sites.
  5. Restart Internet Explorer.

Note: Modifying your browser security settings will alter your Internet security.
