Product

Matchprint® Virtual 5.x

Platform

Apple® Macintosh® computer

Operating system

Apple Mac OS® X

Symptoms

The monitor is calibrated using Matchprint Virtual version 5.x, but the monitor falls out of calibration for no apparent reason. In Smart Review, a message appears in the lower-right corner, stating that the monitor is not calibrated.

Cause

Cause 1: The room temperature changed ±7°F or ±5°C after the monitor was calibrated.
Cause 2: The permissions for the operating system are corrupted.

Solution

Solution 1:

  1. Relocate the monitor to a room that maintains a stable temperature, or relocate the monitor away from heating or air‑conditioning vents.
  2. Calibrate the monitor again.
  3. Disconnect the Matchprint Virtual calibrator (XRite DTP94) from the computer.

Solution 2:

  1. In the Finder, select Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
  2. Click Apple Disk Utility.
  3. Click Repair Disk Permissions.
  4. When the repair process is complete, close the Disk Utility dialog box.
