An Easy Way to Configure Adobe Acrobat Distiller 4.0 Correctly to Make PDF Files for Pandora

Product

Pandora® 1.0 and later

Operating system

Macintosh® & Windows®

Symptoms

Configuring Adobe® Acrobat® Distiller® to make PDF files for Pandora is time-consuming and confusing for some customers. How can we make this process as simple as possible?

Note: Pandora accepts only composite PDF files; pre-separated PDF files will not work.

Solution

We have created a set of pre-defined job options that you can download and use when creating PDFs to use with Pandora. There is one file for Distiller on Macintosh and one file for Distiller on Windows.

1. Copy the appropriate file into the Acrobat:Distiller:Settings folder on any workstation. When you start Distiller, Mac-Acr4-Pandora or Win-Acr4-Pandora appears in the Job Options list; choose this option to create a PDF for use with Pandora.

Note: You need to verify your font settings in Distiller to ensure that fonts are correctly embedded.

If you wish to create your own job options file for Distiller 3.0 or 4.0:

1. Configure Distiller’s Job Options, then click Save As.

2. Name the setup file and save it.

3. In the Acrobat:Distiller:Settings folder, you can then find a .joboptions file that you can use with Distiller on any workstation.
