Printing composite output fails at Apogee RIPs with certain files

Product

Pandora® 2.0

Operating system

Macintosh® & Windows®

Error

%%[ Using shfill ]%%
%%[ Error: typecheck; OffendingCommand: copy ]%%

Symptoms

This problem is specific to Apogee and certain files. An error message appears at the RIP, not in Pandora.

The error occurs only when printing composite from Pandora. It does not occur when printing in-RIP separations. The problem appears to be limited to specific files.

Cause

The problem appears to be related to the Agfa redefinition of /shfill. The Agfa redefinition incorrectly assums that the shading is an array, but it is always a dictionary. When printing in-RIP separations, Pandora adds the IRS procset of Preps; this procset redefines /shfill, causing to Agfa code to fail.
