Operating system

Macintosh® & Windows®

Error

A problem has occurred. Technical information has been entered into "C:\Program Files\ScenicSoft\Pandora 1.5\Pandora.log

Symptoms

Complete Title: After Updating From Pandora 1.5, Pandora 2.0 Does Not Start. An error message appears: “A problem has occurred.”

If the above error message appears when starting Pandora 2.0 after updating from Pandora 1.5, most likely the Screen Cache Size in Pandora 1.5 was set to more than 150 dpi.

Once this error occurs, you must force-quit on the Mac, or end the process on Windows.

Cause

The problem is due to the Screen Cache Size in the Preferences. If the slider is set above 150 dpi in Pandora 1.5, this problem occurs when you update to Pandora 2.0 and/or install the 2.01 patch.

Solution

To fix this problem:
1. With Pandora not running, use a text editor such as BBEdit® or TextPad® to open the defaultuser.properties file, which is in the Pandora 2.0 folder.

2. Delete the line that says:
Preview.Res=(number)

3. Save the file.

This resets the screen cache to the default value. When you start Pandora 2.0, the error no longer occurs.
