Cannot Launch Pandora - The layout application encountered an error. Unable to launch the layout application: Pandora for Packaging

Symptoms

Complete Title: Cannot start Pandora from Prinergy PowerPack Workshop. Error: Unable to launch the layout application: Pandora for Packaging

The above error message may appear when you try to start Pandora from Prinergy PowerPack Workshop. Pandora does start in stand-alone mode.

Cause

There are a couple of reasons why this error might occur.

A. Pandora is installed on an unsupported operating system. The system requirements state that Pandora supports only Microsoft^® Windows NT^® 4.0 or Windows^® 2000 with Services for Macintosh installed (for printing to AppleTalk^® devices), and Mac OS 9.x. Pandora 2.0 and earlier does not support Mac OS X in either Native mode or Classic mode.

B. Pandora is not configured correctly in Workshop.

C. Pandora may have been removed from the system.

Solution

The workarounds are:

A. Run Pandora on Mac OS 9.x. Note: Pandora 2.5 will support Mac OS X in Classic mode.

B. Configure Pandora in Workshop according to the instructions in the Prinergy user guide.

C. Reinstall Pandora.
