Symptoms

Complete Title: A technical error occurs when importing into Pandora a PDF refined using Creo ColorMatch (Prinergy Powerpack v. 2.1.0.16 and later)

When you import a PDF or start a Pandora job from Prinergy Powerpack v. 2.1.0.16 and later, the “technical error” error message appears.

Cause

Creo ColorMatch converts PDF files into 16-bit sample values, which are not supported in Pandora 2.0 and earlier.

Solution

This problem is fixed in Pandora 2.5, which released 16 September 2003.

To work around this problem in Pandora 2.0 and earlier, turn off Creo ColorMatch, or use the Heidelberg Colormatcher when you refine PDFs for use in Pandora.
