Pandora 2.5 Does Not Honor Press Sheet Information in Imported CAD Files

Product

Pandora® 2.5

Operating system

Macintosh® & Windows®

Symptoms

In Pandora 2.0 and earlier, the press sheet information in imported CAD files is honored. In Pandora 2.5, the press sheet information is filtered out of the the CAD file.

Cause

New functionality in Pandora 2.5 filters unused information from the CAD file. By filtering out information such as press sheet, logos, dimension markings, customer information, and so on, Pandora 2.5 makes it easier for users to numerically align the printing area of the die to the gripper.

Solution

To disable filtering in Pandora 2.5, edit the defaultusers.properties file.

1. With Pandora not running, use a text editor such as BBEdit® or TextPad® to open the defaultusers.properties file, which is in the Pandora 2.5 folder.

2. Locate the following line:
[Die.Filter.ExcludeTopLevel=true]

3. Change it to:
[Die.Filter.ExcludeTopLevel=false]

4. Save the file.

Pandora no longer filters any line, art, text, press sheet, or other objects that are not in a die station.
