Symptoms

The ShopMap Migration Utility is available on the Pandora CD in the Extras folder, as well as on the Creo Web site under Pandora Downloads. This utility copies ShopMap resources from an earlier installation of Pandora to the new Pandora 2.5 installation. The utility cannot copy resources from one Pandora 2.5 installation to another Pandora 2.5 installation. The ShopMap Migration Utility is needed only for the Windows version of Pandora 2.5. On Macintosh^®, you can copy the Pandora 2.0 ShopMap folder directly to the Pandora 2.5 folder.

If you use the Pandora 2.5 updater, you do not need to use the ShopMap Migration Utility because the resources are copied automatically. However, if you use the full installer, you must use the utility to copy resources.

There is a problem with the conversion of Press resources; they are not copied by the ShopMap Migration Utility.

Cause

On Windows, the Pandora 2.5 ShopMap database is stored in a new format that is not compatible with previous versions. On Mac OS 9.x, the database format is the same as previous versions.

Solution

To copy a press into the new installation of Pandora 2.5, export it from the earlier installation of Pandora as an XML file and import it into Pandora 2.5. See “Exporting a ShopMap Resource” on page 47 of the Pandora 2.5 User Guide.

The ShopMap Migration Utility is on the Pandora 2.5 CD, in the Extras folder.
To use the ShopMap Migration Utility:

1. Install Pandora 2.5.

2. Double-click ShopMap Migration Utility.exe.

3. Choose the language you want to use, then click OK.

4. Read the introduction, then click the Next button.

5. If the ShopMap Migration Utility has not automatically located your installation of Pandora 2.0, navigate to and select the Pandora 2.0 folder, then click the Next button.

6. If the ShopMap Migration Utility has not automatically located your installation of Pandora 2.5, navigate to and select the Pandora 2.5 folder, then click the Next button. This starts the migration.

7. After the migration is complete, a message box appears indicating if the migration was successful or if an error occurred. Click the Done button to quit the utility.
