Variable text is not replaced when mark is set to overprint in Adobe Illustrator

Product

Pandora® all

Operating system

Mac OS® and Microsoft® Windows®

Symptoms

When a variable text mark is set to overprint in Adobe® Illustrator®, the text is not replaced in the mark when you print from Pandora.

Cause

When the text is set to overprint, Illustrator inserts graphic state operators between each of the characters, causing it to be unrecognizable to Pandora.

Solution

Do not set the text mark to overprint in Illustrator. Instead, set the mark to overprint in Pandora.

  1. Open the mark in Illustrator and remove the overprint setting.

  2. Save the mark.

  3. In Pandora, in the JOV Content tab, select the mark.

  4. In the Attributes area, select the Overprint check box.
