Pandora 2.6 runs in demo mode on Mac OS X when Classic mode is running

Product

Pandora® 2.6

Operating system

Mac OS® X

Symptoms

Pandora takes an unusually long time to start up and a Demo Mode dialog box appears, indicating that the dongle is missing.

Cause

Mac OS X Classic claims the hardware key, preventing Pandora 2.6 from accessing it.

Solution

There are two workarounds for this problem.

Workaround 1: Do not run Pandora 2.6 and Classic mode at the same time

  1. Quit Pandora.

  2. Quit Classic mode.

  3. Restart Pandora.

Workaround 2: Install the Classic Blocker software (license-classic-block.dmg)

  1. Locate the license-classic-block.dmg file in the Pandora 2.6:iKey:Drivers:OS X folder.

  2. Double-click license-classic-block.dmg. The disk image opens.

  3. In the license-classic-block folder, double-click the license-classic-block.pkg icon.

  4. In the Welcome to Creo Licensing Classic Mode Block Installer dialog box, click Continue.

  5. In the Important Information dialog box, read the information, and then click Continue.

  6. In the Software License Agreement dialog box, read the license agreement, and then click Continue.

  7. Click Agree to accept the license agreement.

  8. In the Select a Destination dialog box, the startup volume is selected by default. Click Continue.

  9. In the Easy Install on OS 10 dialog box, click Install.

  10. In the Authenticate dialog box, type your administrator name and password, and then click OK.

  11. The installer warns that you must restart the computer when the installation is done. Click Continue Installation.

  12. In the Install Software dialog box, click Restart when the installer indicates that the software was successfully installed.

Uninstalling the iKey Classic Blocker:
If you need to uninstall the Classic blocker, use the following procedure.

  1. Log in using an administrator account.

  2. Double-click license-classic-block.dmg.

  3. From the Go menu, choose Utilities.

  4. In the Utilities window, double-click Terminal.

  5. In the Terminal window, at the prompt, type sudo (followed by a space), and then drag uninstall.sh from the license-classic-block window onto the black cursor after sudo and press return.

  6. Type your Mac OS administrator-level password at the prompt, and then press return.

  7. Restart the computer.
