OutOfMemoryError

Symptoms

A red memory message appears in the status bar, an 'OutOfMemoryError' message appears in the log, and/or Pandora runs very slowly.

Cause

Memory-intensive jobs or settings causing a low memory or out of memory situation for one of the following reasons:

• Preview resolution is set high


• Thumbnail resolution is set high (Prinergy^® / ApogeeX^®)


• Artworks in imposition

Solution

To configure Pandora to use more memory:

1. Open the Pandora folder.


2. Hold down the Control key and click on the Pandora 2.6 application file.


3. Select Show Package Contents.


4. Open the Contents folder.


5. Using a text editor such as SimpleText or BBEdit^®, open the Info.plist' file.


6. Locate the line ‹string›-Xms128m -Xmx256m‹/string›.


7. Change Xmx256m to Xmx512mor Xmx1g as needed.
