Pandora bleed path corners are rounded in versions 2.9.5 and later

Product

  Kodak® Pandora® 2.9.5 and later

Symptoms

Pandora 2.9.5 and later does not generate the identical bleed path to earler versions. The most noticable change is that sharp corners in the die used to result in sharp-cornered bleeds. Now sharp-cornered bleed paths have rounded edges.

Cause

This was intentionally done to prevent a rare problem that caused a "V" shape to appear at bleed corners.

Solution

You can control the shapes of corners in bleed paths generated by Pandora by adding a comment to the defaultuser.properties file.

  1. Quit Pandora.
  2. Locate the Applications\Pandora folder (program files\kodak\Pandora on Microsoft Windows®-based computers.)
  3. Open the file named defaultuser.properties.
  4. Add one of the following lines to the file:
    Sharp corners:
    Bleed.StrokeJoinType=BasicStroke.JOIN_MITER
    Smooth Rounded corners:
    Bleed.StrokeJoinType=BasicStroke.JOIN_ROUND
    Angled corners:
    Bleed.StrokeJoinType=BasicStroke.JOIN_BEVEL

    Using JOIN_MITER will make Pandora produce bleed paths as close to previous versions as possible.
