PressProof Sliding Monitor Feature (beta)

The Kodak^® PressProof^™ sliding monitor feature provides a means of viewing large images at 1:1 scale for comparison to press sheets. When the customer moves the monitor to a position directly above an image on a press sheet, the same image appears on the monitor. This gives the impression that the monitor is a sliding window moving over a larger stationary image.

The image adjusts continuously and rapidly as the monitor moves.

Sliding monitor kit

A customer who purchases the Kodak sliding monitor kit receives:

• Acquisition board
• Position sensor with a retractable string, and its mounting hardware
• Sensor cable
• USB cable
• Positioning software

Requirements

The customer must have the following software and hardware installed:

• PressProof software

Note: Kodak will upgrade the customer to the latest PressProof version when they purchase the sliding monitor feature.

• Viewing station with a linear sliding monitor mount. The GTI MCVE-1/SP (Modular Color Viewing Environment) viewing station with sliding monitor mount option is recommended.

Project Status

The sliding monitor system is in beta, undergoing field trials, and is expected to be commercially available (in EP) by late 2008. We are looking for customers interested in participating in the beta program. Price is $4200 and €4200.
