This imagesetter setup was tested at Precision Digital, a trade shop, but the customer rejected it for production due to problems with connectivity (see the Connectivity section, below).

Connectivity

Connectivity issues are:

• Can't select cassettes

• Can't share Avantra between Prinergy and existing RIP

This is very unlikely to be a solution, but Xitron may improve this connectivity. Also, these limitations may not be showstoppers for other sites, especially those where the Avantra is used as a backup for CTP only.
