Symptoms |
Oracle installer hangs at 0% complete during Prinergy installation on an Intel Pentium 4 system. You are using the original Intel Oracle installation cd p/n: 21-0057A-A. |
Cause |
The dll responsible for identifying the processor (symcjit.dll) does not recognize the P4 as supporting SSE. Any version of symcjit.dll older than 3.10.107 will exhibit this problem. | |

Solution |
There are two workarounds for resolving this problem. Workaround 1) Copy the Oracle cd contents to disk and remove all instances of symcjit.dll. Un-install Prinergy. Subst a drive to the Oracle folder and re-install Prinergy using the Oracle installer from the subst'd drive. Workaround 2) Use the new version of the Oracle cd p/n: 21-0057-A-B. Permanent fix: |
