Symptoms |
The ADIC Faststor tape library does not appear to support the automatic injecting/ejecting of media. |
Cause |
Automatic injecting/ejecting of media is not supported by the Faststor tape library. Injecting/ejecting media must be done manually. | |
Solution |
To manually inject a tape into a Faststor tape library: 1. Open the door of the ADIC Faststor tape library. If there is an empty slot in the library, insert the tape into the slot. 2. If there are no empty slots in the front slot of the library, use the front panel command to load the tape to the rear slot. To do this, press the MODE button on the front panel until it indicates LOAD SLOT, then select the rear slot as the slot destination to load the tape. 3. Insert the tape when prompted. The Faststor will perform an inventory automatically. To manually eject a tape from a Faststor tape library: 1. Remove the tape. - If the tape is in the front slot, open the door of the library and manually take out the tape. - If the tape is in the rear slot, unload the tape from the rear slot to the front slot. To do this, using the MODE button on the front panel of the library, scroll to EJECT SLOT. 2. Once the tape has been ejected from the rear slot, manually take the tape out. The Faststor will perform an inventory automatically. Permanent fix: |
