Error

Symptoms

Archiver asks you to insert a tape into the Faststor tape library, but the tape is already inside the library.

Cause

A. The ADIC Door Monitor service is not running.

B. The system does not have the latest version of the changer driver installed for the tape library that works with Windows 2000 Server.

Solution

To update the status of the tape library in RSM:

- Expand Physical Locations, locate the Faststor tape library, and right-click Inventory.

This will force the library to perform an inventory and update the RSM.

For cause A:

1. From the Windows Start menu, select Programs > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.

2. In Computer Management, expand Services and Applications, and then click Services.

3. Locate the ADIC Door Monitor service on the right pane, this should be the first one on the list. Ensure that the status is "started" and startup type is "automatic".

For cause B:

To check the changer driver for the ADIC, locate the ADICfc.sys file in the \winnt\system32\drivers folder on the system drive.

The date of the file = Mar 21, 2001

The filesize = 29Kb

If you don't have the latest file, call the Creo Response Center. A representative will remotely install the latest changer driver for the system.
