Cause

Solution

Try to use Uarchcon to restore the job, you may have to try it a few time if it fails with a CRC error again.

Please refer to the tech note under Prinergy\KnowledgeBase\Archiver_FAQ\Retrieving an archived job using Uarchcon (http://intranet.creo.com/support/html/workflow/prinergy/workarounds/ACHN-0000024.asp) and also download the new version of the Uarchcon from the Downloads|Tools page (http://intranet.creo.com/support/html/workflow/prinergy/v1-1/downloads.htm#tools).

In Prinergy 2.0, it will try to ignore the bad block on the archiver header and try to retrieve the next block, which is the file. However, if the corrupt block is overlap the archive header to the file, then the job still won't be able to retrieve.

STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE CUSTOMER TO DO DUPICATE ARCHIVE FOR THEIR JOBS.

For Prinergy 1.1, create a second archive process plan, ask the customer to archive onto two pools.

For Prinergy 2.0, add the second archive media pools into the archive process plan and this will make sure the archive go into two pools. Also, add the archive media pools onto the purge process plan, so when purging the job, it will check for the archives onto two pools before purging.
