Error |
"Gripper Full" displays on the LCD panel. |
Symptoms |
The P1000 tape library fails to initialize, showing an error on the LCD panel. |
Cause |
A tape is stuck in the gripper handle. This may be caused by the library being out of sync with the inventory. When RSM or another application tries to mount a tape in the drive when the drive is loaded with another tape, the tape has nowhere to go and gets stuck in the gripper. | |

Solution |
1) Power down the library. 2) Open the door. 3) Take out the casettes. 4) Manually remove the tape from the gripper. 5) Insert the casettes back to the library. 6) Close the door. 7) Power on the system. This should clear the error. If the error persists, check to see whether there is anything blocking the gripper. Call ATL for tech support. Permanent fix: |
