Error

Symptoms

Tape Library has lost its configuration. The LCD display shows NONE.

Cause

This may due to a firmware upgrade or executive board change.

Solution

You must reconfigure the system in the Private Menu and calibrate the tape library.

1. To activiate the Private Menu:

- Press MENU -> Maintenance, then press Enter

- Scroll to the bottom selection, Test LD Display, then press Enter

- hold down the Down Arrow key, then press Enter, and then press Menu (you must hold the first key down, then the second, then the last key). This will successfully activate the Private Menu.

2. Enter Password to access the Private Menu. In Private Menu- Access, press Enter, then enter the password "Update" (use the up and down arrow keys to select each alphabet, then press Enter). After you enter "Update", press Enter, then press Exit.

3. Press Menu -> Configuration ->Advanced ->Changer -> Mechanics, then press Enter to enter the Model for Mechanics.

Use the up and down arrow keys until the desired model is displayed, then press Enter, then Exit.

Note: Creo sells the tape library with I/O slot, so all model numbers need to end with "i".

4. Press the down arrow once, to BCR (Bar Code Reader).

Use the up and down arrow keys to select the correct bar code reader model. The model type is located on the bar code reader itself (open the door of the tape library and look at the bottom of the bar code reader).

After you select the correct type, press Enter, then Exit.

Example of model type: WA3700/B-2221

5. Press the down arrow to Carriage, then press Enter.

A sticker is located on the bottom of the carriage assembly indicating the carriage type.

Once selected, press Exit once.

6. Press the down arrow to Door Lock, then press Enter. By default, it is set to NONE. Press Exit once.

7. Press the down arrow to FibraCh, then press Enter.

Set it to NONE, then press Exit once.

8. Press the down arrow to I/O port, then press Enter.

Set it to A, then press Exit once.

9. Press the down arrow to Q-Link, then press Enter.

Set it to NONE, then press Exit once.

10. You must calibrate the tape library any time something is changed in this menu:

Remove all the tapes from the tape library.

Press Menu -> Private -> Calibration, then press Enter.

11. To deactiviate the Private Menu, in the Private Menu, select Clear Access, then press Enter.
