Symptoms |
When trying to retrieve a Prinergy 1.1 job on a system upgraded from Prinergy 1.1 directly to Prinergy 2.3, the Archiver JTP crashes. You cannot retrieve the job at all. Sites running Prinergy 2.1.0.22 or 2.2.1.5, or sites upgraded to 2.3 that has been previously running 2.1.0.22 or 2.2.1.5 will not be affected. |
Cause |
There is a problem with the Prinergy 2.3 upgrade where it changes the archiver table incorrectly. The fix is in Prinergy 2.1.0.22 and 2.2.1.5. If the site is upgraded from 1.1 directly to 2.3, the problem may occur because the fix was not in 2.3. Use the workaround solution. | |

Solution |
We need to update the archive table with the correct values using sqlplus. 1. Start SQLPLUS. - D:\> SQLPLUS PRINERGY/ARAXI 2. Use the statement below to count how many rows are affected. We will compare this value to the number of rows tht have been updated before committing the changes. BE CAREFUL. - SQL> select count(*) from dbcs_archive where physicalarchivestartloc like '007%' and instr(physicalarchivestartloc,',') <= 0; 3. Backup the existing archiver DBCS_Archive table. - SQL> Create table DBCS_ArchiveBackup as select * from DBCS_Archive; 4. Update the DBCS_Archive table with the correct value. - SQL> update dbcs_archive set physicalarchivestartloc='003' || substr(physicalarchivestartloc,4) where physicalarchivestartloc like '007%' and instr(physicalarchivestartloc,',') <= 0; 5. Check how many rows were updated, it should be identical to the value from step 1. - SQL> select count(*) from dbcs_archive where physicalarchivestartloc like '003%' and instr(physicalarchivestartloc,',') <= 0; The two counts from step 1 and 4 should be identical. 6. If they match, we can commit the change. - SQL> commit; 7. If the two counts do not match, then roll back the transaction and contact Product Development for support. - SQL> rollback; 8. Exit SQLPLUS. - SQL> exit Permanent fix: |
