Symptoms

When doing upgrade from 2.0.4 -> 3.0.3.0 -> 3.1.0.0, ppu failed with Exception typeerror, the warning did not make any sense.

We should create the registry key by default and if the path migration is not finished, we should advise to start 3.0.3.0 and let it finish the path migration and then restart Prinergy to update the registry key to 2. For fresh install without any data in the database, we can manually create the registry key to get around it.

Cause

In the registry under Default\System there should be an entry for PathMigrationFinished. This value has to be set to 2 in-order for the install to continue.

Solution

For customer database, when upgrading from 2.x->3.0.3->3.1, you should start 3.0.3 to let the path migration finish before ugprading 3.1.0.0. When the path migration is finished at 3.0.3, you need to restart Prinergy to update the path migration registry key to 2.

For fresh install with no database, you can just install 3.0.3. and then update the registry key to 2, or start 3.0.3 twice to update the key to 2 before upgrading to 3.1.0.

NOTE: Manually create this registry entry.

Set the registry system\PathMigrationFinished = 2 DWORD.
