Symptoms |
Using the Preps XTension (SPX 2.0), bleeds are lost and the trim box is not set properly. Using the Imation Prepress XTension (PTX 1.8), it works as expected (bleeds are retained, trim box set properly). (Prinergy 1.1 includes special support for the Imation Prepress XTension so that the trim box is set properly and bleeds are retained. Since ScenicSoft acquired the prepress software of Imation they have updated this XTension and renamed it.) |

||
Cause |
ScenicSoft changed the %%Creator: comment used to identify input files that needed special support for bleed retention. | |

Solution |
Add the necessary support to your NormInputConfig file. Note: See "Changes to the Normalizer" (in the Related Links section, below), which documents the contents of the NormInputConfig file. Simply add these lines to the end of the NormInputConfig file (located in \AdobeExtreme\bin) on ALL PRINERGY SERVERS: # ScenicSoft Preps XTension, for use with Quark XPress 3 or 4 target ScenicSoft Preps XTension %%Creator: = Preps XTension @pagebox bbox -18 -18 +18 +18 @trimbox bbox @cleanmultipage Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
