Symptoms |

Cause |
An Oracle problem causes the Archive/Retrieve JTP to fail with an Oracle error when it fetchs from the Archive Medium table, and in a different (but simultaneous) transaction, updates the two columns in the Archive Medium table that hold the tape's remaining freespace. The problem occurrs when there is only a single row in the Archive Medium table (although there may be other circumstance under which this problem occurs). The problem disappears when the index on these two columns is eliminated. |

Solution |
Temporary workaround: 1. Go to a DOS prompt and type "sqlplus prinergy/araxi" to log in to SQL. 2. At SQL> type "drop index DBCS_ARCHMEDM_FREESPACE_IDX1;". This will drop the index for the archiver freespace table. 3. Type "exec DBCS_compileobjects;". Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
