Error

Symptoms

All pages being saved out of Prinergy using DCS raster output are clipped about 3/4" on various sides, depending on the original trim box.

Cause

This problem is introduced after installing Prinergy 1.1 patches 88 or 116.

To reproduce the problem: On any Prinergy 1.1 system with patch 88 or 116, save a PDF page using the DCS process plan. Take the incorrect DCS set and add the master file as input back into Prinergy. Refine the DCS set and look at the resulting page in Acrobat, to measure margins and offset.

Solution

1. Patch 116 (Prinergy 1.1) or Prinergy 2.0 an be installed, but if the DCS output option is going to be used, the file %extremehome%\bin\PFWK_DCS.ini needs to have the entry for "UseTrimBoxAsBoundingBox" changed from 1 to 0.

2. The UseTrimBoxAsBoundingBox setting in PFWK_Dcs.ini interacts with settings in Process Plan, Layout. Check the values for Margins for Trim and Bleed. Probably, the margin sizes are the amount by which the incorrect output is being cropped. In that case, setting UseTrimBoxAsBoundingBox to 0 could be suitable.
