Symptoms

While retrieving a job, one or more files will fail to retrieve with error: "The restored version of the file does not match the latest archive". If you set your retreive process plan to continue on file warning and error, it will retrieve the file but the file will change to the current system date and time.

The file will show up in the online and previously archived column. You cannot purge the job without re-archiving the file.

NOTE: This problem is differs from the retrieval problem that is caused by changing the time zone of the system, as this problem only affects one or two files on some files, not all the jobs. Plus, the retrieve file will change to the retrieval date and time of the system.

If you change the time zone of the system, refer to another tech note, "Retrieval fails with error: "The restored version of the file does not match the latest archive" .

Cause

Solution

Rename the file that is having the problem to retrieve to something else. Select the problem file to do a selective retrieve.

The file will retrieve properly.
