Symptoms |
Harlequin RIP rejects a DCS or EPS file with: "%%[ Error: undefinedfilename; OffendingCommand: file; File: %ip:Encad-Creo-Comp_Prinergy% ]%% %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end of file) will be ignored ]%%' |
|

||
Cause |
This problem was encountered at American Press, with a Harlequin RIP that was hooked up to an Encad plotter. The Encad is a roll-fed proofing device, much like an HP plotter. However, instead of having a Jet Direct card as a front-end, some Encads have Harlequin RIPs as the front end. If you specify "roll-fed" as a setting in the Prinergy process plan, you will write an EPS or DCS file that cannot be interpeted by the RIP. |

Solution |
Instead of selecting "roll-fed", select "digital file" in the Prinergy process plan. You may have to configure several different spool folders with different signature sizes specified for each one. Permanent fix: |
