Symptoms |
The customer wants to print different sized pages to a printer that has mulitple trays holding different sizes of paper, but the printer keeps defaulting to the same tray. Tabloid or letter, the output from Prinergy always comes out of one tray. |
Cause |
Some printer drivers have an "autosense" feature, where supposedly they read the incoming PostScript and send it off to the appropiate tray. However, the autosense features don't work with Prinergy EPS files. Therefore it defaults to one tray. | |

Solution |
Set up another NT Printer, one that has the default tray pointing at the 11x17 paper tray. For example, \\Computer\Letter for the 8.5x11" paper \\Computer\Tabloid for the 11x17" paper In the properties for each virtual printer, set the default tray to point to the tray that holds the paper you wish to print on.
